DOLPHINS SPLIT TWO GAMES ON SECOND DAY OF REBEL
GAMES
KISSIMMEE, FL - The Le Moyne College softball team split a pair
of games on Sunday at the second day of the Rebel Games. The
Dolphins dropped the first game of the afternoon against
Concordia-St. Paul 8-0. Le Moyne rallied to take the second
game of the day against Wheeling Jesuit by the score of 7-1. With
the split, the Dolphins move to 3-1 on the season.
Sophomore pitcher Cassye McMahon pitched a complete game
two-hitter as the Concordia Golden Bears defeated the Dolphins 8-0
in six innings. The loss marked the first loss of the season for Le
Moyne.
Le Moyne rebounded in game two as they defeated Wheeling Jesuit
7-1 behind the arm of sophomore Jenna Vanacore (Hicksville,
NY / Holy Trinity) and the bat of freshman Leah
Ford (Pulaski, NY / Pulaski). Vanacore pitched her
second consecutive complete game to earn her second win of the
season. She allowed just five hits and one run while striking out
two to improve her career record to 16-1. Ford connected for
her first career home run. Jennifer Farrelly (Latham,
NY / Shaker) was 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs batted
in. Junior Bailey Phillips (Rochester, NY /
Greece-Arcadia) added two hits and two RBI's while
Kelly Schweikert (Rochester, NY / Spencerport)
chipped in with two RBI's and two runs scored.
Following a day off on Monday, the Dolphins return to action on
Tuesday as they take on Palm Beach Atlantic at 11 AM and
Fayetteville State at 3 PM.
