SB: FARRELLY NAMED NORTHEAST-10 AND ECAC PLAYER AND PITCHER OF THE
WEEK
South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne College senior pitcher
Jennifer Farrelly (Latham, N.Y./Shaker) has been
named the Northeast-10 Conference and ECAC Player and Pitcher of
the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday
afternoon.
Farrelly, a second team all-conference selection as a junior,
picks up the second player of the week and first pitcher of the
week honors of her career. At the plate, Farrelly hit .733
(11-for-15) with three home runs, 11 RBI and five runs scored in
leading the Dolphins to a 5-1 week. In five appearances in the
pitching circle, including three starts, Farrelly went 4-1 with a
0.94 ERA and 20 strikeouts over 29.2 innings pitched. Farrelly, the
team's leader in batting average (.368), home runs (4) and runs
batted in (25), went 5-for-5 with three home runs and eight RBI, as
well as picking up a victory, in Le Moyne's doubleheader sweep of
Merrimack on Sunday. The senior righty earned a pair of victories
against New Haven on Wednesday and shut out Assumption on Thursday
by striking out six batters. Farrelly helped her own cause in game
one against New Haven by delivering a two-run single to right
field.
Le Moyne (19-7, NE-10 7-1), ranked 25th in the latest NFCA
Division II poll, returns to action on Wednesday at The College of
Saint Rose at 5:00 p.m. The doubleheader will be played at the RGSL
Complex in Rotterdam, N.Y.
