O'Neill earned player of the week honors leading the Dolphins with a .459 batting average. Vancore was named pitcher of the week after posting a 1-0 record in two appearances. Post Pioneers rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Le Moyne 4-3 on day four of the NCAA Regional. The Dolphins (45-9) were sparked by Caitlin ONeills two-out, two-run double in the fifth inning in defeating the Bulldogs (30-15) via the mercy rule. Post campus. Freshman Jenna Vanacore picked up the win in the circle as Le Moyne improved their record to 45-9 on the season. NYIT falls to 29-17 and drops into the losers bracket. Post for the 2008 NCAA Softball Northeast Regional. The five-day event will begin on Wednesday and conclude on Sunday. With a 44-9 overall record, Le Moyne earned the second-seed and will face NYIT in their opening game on Wednesday at 11:30 AM. Le Moyne, the regular season champion, captured game one 3-2, dropped the second game 11-10 and won the deciding game three 7-3. With the win, the Dolphins earn an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Le Moyne College softball team ran its winning streak to 21 games Saturday with wins in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament over Saint Rose and Pace. The top-seeded Dolphins knocked off Saint Rose, 3-1, in quarterfinal action and edged Pace, 4-1, in the semifinals. With the win, the Dolphins finish the regular season with a 40-8 overall record, 27-1 in the Northeast-10. The senior helped lead the Dolphins to an undefeated 8-0 week with her performance on the field. Reed led the Dolphins with a .581 batting average with two home runs, five doubles, and seven RBIs. The senior also went 4-0 in the circle, posting a 0.31 ERA through 22.2 innings. In her start against Merrimack Reed threw a no-hitter. The Dolphins have won 17 consecutive games and 33 of their last 35 games. Le Moyne improves to 38-8, 25-1 in the NE-10 while UMass-Lowell drops to 24-22, 17-9 in conference. MICHAELSColchester, VT Winners of eleven straight and 26 of their last 28, the Le Moyne College softball team improved to 32-8 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of St. Michaels on Thursday. The Dolphins took game one by the score of 7-1 behind the play of Bailey Phillips. Jen Farrelly and Le Moyne unleashed an offensive attack in game two that produced 20 hits and a 13-2 six-inning victory. Junior Lyndsey Balinskas and senior Sarah Reed were named to the first team. Sophomore Bailey Phillips and junior Jennifer Farrelly were name second team honorees. Third team honors were given to senior Caylinn Christophersen and sophomore Kelly Schweikert. [more] ![]() Apr 20, 2008DOLPHINS CLAIM FIRST PLACE IN NE-10 WITH SWEEP OF BRYANTSyracuse N.Y- Le Moyne College swept Bryant in a double header Sunday to move in to first place of the Northeast-10 conference with a 17-1 lead mark. In game one Le Moyne took an early lead in the first with a two run homer by Emma Murphy. In Game two the Dolphins bats gave the dolphins the victory as the defeated Bryant 9-2. With todays victories Le Moyne improves to 30-8, 17-1 while Bryant falls to 20-10, 17-3. [more] ![]() Apr 19, 2008LE MOYNE TAKES TWO FROM STONEHILLSyracuse N. Y.- Le Moyne advance their record to 28-8 overall, 15-2 in the NE-10 as they defeated the Stonehill Skyhawks, today at home. Emma Murphys home run brought the Dolphins back in game one as they took the 7-6 victory. In the second game of the day Le Moyne managed to squeeze out a 1-0 win over the Skyhawks.
