Le Moyne Athletics : LE MOYNE TOPS ST. MICHAEL'S 3-1 AND CLINCH SEVENTH SEED IN NE-10 PLAYOFF

LE MOYNE TOPS ST. MICHAEL'S 3-1 AND CLINCH NE-10 PLAYOFF BERTH

Colchester, VT - The Le Moyne College volleyball team wrapped up their NE-10 schedule with a 3-1 victory over St. Michael's. With the win, the Dolphins improve to 7-7 in conference and clinch a the seventh seed in the conference playoffs that begin on Friday, November 9th. Led by Elizabeth Cheek's 17, four Dolphins recorded double-digit kills on the day.

Le Moyne (13-17, 7-7) jumped out early by capturing the first two games by the score of 30-23 and 30-24. The Purple Knights (7-20, 2-11) would respond in game three with a 30-24 win. The Dolphins would close the door on Saint Michael's in the fourth and final game with a decisive 30-18 victory.

Krista Prentice notched 11 kills and 13 digs to go along with three aces. Junior Jodi Smith chipped in with 13 kills, eight digs and three aces. Caitlin Richardson recorded 10 kills and Amanda Kershner had a strong performance in the middle blocking six Purple Knight attacks.

With the victory, the Dolphins capture a berth in the Northeast 10 Conference Tournament which is set to begin on November 9th on the Bentley College campus. Below are the brackets for the quarterfinal round.
