ELIZABETH CHEEK NAMED NE-10 VOLLEYBALL
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne junior outside hitter
Elizabeth Cheek (Huntington Beach, Calif./Rosary)
has been recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference as its
volleyball player of the week, as announced by the conference
office on Monday, Sept. 15.
Cheek, an all-conference selection as a freshman and sophomore,
was named conference player of the week after earning
all-tournament honors in the Dolphins' 3-1 weekend as the host of
the Le Moyne College Invitational. Cheek recorded 46 kills
(3.54/gm) and 40 digs (3.08/gm) in Le Moyne's four matches. She
landed 15 kills in a 3-1 loss to Bridgeport on Saturday, Sept. 14.
In her team's first match on Sunday, she registered 13 kills and 12
digs in a 3-0 sweep of Caldwell. Cheek capped the weekend by
contributing 14 kills and eight digs in a 3-0 sweep of
Stonehill.
Le Moyne (5-4) returns to action on Friday, Sept. 19 at conference
newcomer New Haven at 7:00 p.m.
