DOLPHINS FALL TO UMASS-LOWELL 3-1 IN NE-10 VOLLEYBALL
ACTION
SYRACUSE, NY – The Le Moyne volleyball team dropped a 3-1
decision to UMass-Lowell on Saturday at Ted Grant Court. The loss
drops the Dolphins to 11-8, 4-4 in the Northeast-10 Conference. The
River Hawks improve to 9-13 and 4-5 in the NE-10.
UMass-Lowell captured the first two games by the score of 25-22
and 25-19. The Dolphins rallied to capture game three 25-23, but
dropped the fourth and final game of the match 25-21.
The River Hawks were led by Sarah Coscia, Jillian Hadder and Elsa
LeGrand who each recorded double-digit kills on the afternoon. Le
Moyne was led by junior Elizabeth Cheek’s (Huntington
Beach, Calif./Rosary) 14 kills as she recorded
double-digit kills for the ninth time in 10 games. Sophomore
Amanda Kershner (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker)
tied her career high with nine kills on the day. Seniors
Jodi Smith (Angola, N.Y./Eden) and Caitlin
Richardson (Victor, N.Y./Victor) each contributed with
seven kills each. Setter Kaylin Brainerd (Liverpool,
N.Y./Liverpool) dished out 34 assists and libero
Lindsey Gleason (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) added 15
digs.
The Dolphins return to action on Sunday, October 19th as they host
Franklin Pierce at Ted Grant Court at noon.
