Manchester, N.H. - Senior outside hitter Elizabeth Cheek (Huntington Beach, Calif./Rosary) landed six kills to tie the program's career kills record as the Le Moyne College volleyball team defeated Southern New Hampshire, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at SNHU Fieldhouse.

In the opening game, Southern New Hampshire jumped out to an early lead, but the Dolphins rallied midway through the game for a 25-18 win. The Penman used a 5-2 run to turn a 5-5 tie into a 10-7 lead, before eventually pushing out to a 14-12 advantage. After a kill by freshman Bethany Fabian (Lake View, N.Y./Frontier) pulled the Dolphins to within 14-13, Le Moyne tallied six straight points off the serve of freshman Allison Hebel (Greenlawn, N.Y./Harborfields) to pull away. The Dolphins scored six of the game's final nine points to seal the victory.

The Dolphins started game two where they left off in game one and jumped out to leads of 6-0 and 13-4 en route to a 25-18 win. Senior setter Kaylin Brainerd (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) opened the game by serving for six straight points. After the Penman closed to within 8-4, Hebel landed four straight service aces to regain control of the game for Le Moyne. Junior Andrea Sterling (Bloomfield, N.Y./Bloomfield) gave the Dolphins their largest lead at 20-10 with four straight points off serve. The Dolphins closed out the game with a kill by sophomore middle hitter Kelli Willets (Apalachin, N.Y./Vestal) and an attack error by the Penman.

Le Moyne never trailed in the third game on its way to a 25-19 victory. Midway through the game, the Dolphins turned a three point lead into a 20-9 advantage with eight consecutive points. Le Moyne recorded the final seven points of the run behind the serve of Cheek. Southern New Hampshire was able to pull within four points on three occasions, the last coming at 23-19, but a Willets kill ended the comeback. Sterling closed out the match with a service ace.

With the six kills on the afternoon, Cheek ties Lindsey Fattey '06 for the program record with 1,226. Cheek also posted a match-high 18 digs to go over 200 digs for the fourth straight year. Freshman middle hitter Morgan McDermott (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee), the conference's leader in hitting percentage, landed a match-best nine kills in hitting at a .400 percentage. Brainerd became the fourth Dolphins to eclipse 2,600 career assists after dishing out 25 on the day.
