LE MOYNE WINNERS OF LAST TWO IN SERIES - The Dolphins have won the last two meetings between the two New York State Thruway rivals. Le Moyne topped Saint Rose 76-68 at home on Dec. 10 in the only meeting between the two teams this season. Sophomore Kim Wagoner (Cicero, N.Y./C-NS) scored 21 points and freshman Vanessa Holden (Suffern, N.Y./Immaculate Heart) added 18 in the win. Last season, Andrea Pluchino (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) scored 23 points to lift Le Moyne to a 64-52 win at Saint Rose.
GOING BY ALBANY - For every road game in the Northeast-10 Conference, Le Moyne must make the two hour trek past Albany, home of the College of Saint Rose. Le Moyne is the westernmost school in the 15-team Northeast-10 Conference.
MEN AND WOMEN TWO IN A ROW - For each of the past two seasons, Le Moyne College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams have hit the road for the conference tournament and each time they have met the same foe. With 15 teams in the Northeast-10, what are the odds of that happening? Last season, Le Moyne’s teams dropped decisions at Pace. The women were the 12-seed last season.
ON THE ROAD - Le Moyne has won just three of 14 road contests this season and was 1-11 in the Northeast-10. The Dolphins beat #12 seed SNHU for their only road league win this season. Le Moyne is 1-0 in the refurbished Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
DOLPHINS HOPE TO SNAP SKID - Le Moyne has dropped its last five games and six of its last seven. The Dolphins have not won a Northeast-10 Conference tournament game since advancing to the conference championship in 2002.
BELFORTI WITHIN TOP THREE - Senior guard Ann Belforti has made 60 shots from 3-point range this season, placing her third on the single season chart. Averaging 2.36 3-pointers made per game, she needs just four more from long range to top the chart. Kim Black is first with 63 in the 1991-92 season and second with 62 in the 1992-93 season.
SUPER SOPH - With 676 points, sophomore Kim Wagoner is in the top 30 on the career scoring list. Wagoner leads the Dolphins with 14.7 points per game and ranks fifth in the NE-10.
GLADSTONE CLIMBING CHARTS - Freshman Kathleen Gladstone has dished out 123 assists (4.8/game, 4th NE-10), placing her third on Le Moyne’s single season assists chart. Regan Burns ’02 holds the top two spots with 131 and 128 in the 2000-01 and 2001-02 seasons.
GIVE ME THREE – Le Moyne ranks second in the Northeast-10 Conference with a 33.9% team effort from 3-point range. The Dolphins are fifth with 5.19 3-pointers made per game. Belforti has made 2.2 3-pointers per game, fourth in the league.
WE ARE YOUNG! - Le Moyne starts two freshmen, one sophomore, one junior and just one senior. Five of Le Moyne’s top six scorers (based on ppg) are slated to return next season.
