Le Moyne Athletics : Kim Wagoner scores 22 points to lead Le Moyne to 70-54 win over Saint Anselm

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: KIM WAGONER SCORES 22 POINTS TO LEAD LE MOYNE PAST SAINT ANSELM 70-54

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Junior guard Kim Wagoner (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) scored a game-high 22 points to lead Le Moyne to a 70-54 win over Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball game at Grant Court. The Dolphins improve to 4-3 overall and even their league mark at 2-2, while Saint Anselm (1-4, 0-4 Northeast-10) is still chasing its first league win.

Wagoner posted a pair of 11 point halves en route to her 22-point total. Sophomore Katie Dunn (Whippany, N.J./Morris Catholic) added 11 points. Freshman Courtney Coryea (Mooers Forks, N.Y./Northeastern Clinton) chipped in eight points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Le Moyne outrebounded its guests 41-33 and shot 42.3% from the field while limiting the Hawks to 31.3%.

Justine Lyons led Saint Anselm with 11 points. Cassandra Loftus scored nine and Jessica Morgan added eight points.

Le Moyne used a 15-3 run early in the second half to turn a four-point edge into a 16-point bulge (49-33) on Vanessa Holden's (Suffern, N.Y./Immaculate Heart) free throws with 13:04 remaining. Holden's layup with 2:32 remaining gave Le Moyne an 18-point lead at 65-47.

Le Moyne hosts Franklin Pierce on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
