WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: JEVY REYNER SCORES 16 TO LIFT SAINT MICHAEL'S PAST LE MOYNE 56-49

COLCHESTER, Vt. - Jevy Rayner scored 16 points to lead Saint Michael's to a 56-49 win over Le Moyne in a Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball game at the Ross Sports Center. The Purple Knights (5-3, 3-3 Northeast-10) held Le Moyne (4-5, 2-4 Northeast-10) to just four field goals in the second half.

Sophomore Katie Dunn (Whippany, N.J./Morris Catholic), whose sister Allison starts for Saint Michael's, led Le Moyne with 14 points. Lindsay Carr (Bronx, N.Y./Preston) and Kim Wagoner (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) scored 13 points each. Dunn went 9-for-9 from the free throw line, while Carr made 9-of-13. The Dolphins made 20-of-29 (69.0%) from the free throw line for the game. Le Moyne managed just a 26.5% (13-for-49) effort from the field, including only 4-of-24 (16.7%) in the second half.

Jevy Rayner made 4-of-10 from the field, 3-of-5 from 3-point range and 5-of-7 from the free throw line for her game-high 16 points. Adrienne Carpenter scored 14 points to join Rayner in double figures for Saint Michael's. The Purple Knights shot just 38.3% (18-for-47) from the field for the game.

Saint Michael's led 30-28 at the half and did not trail in the second half. Le Moyne pulled to within three points (49-46) on a pair of Carr free throws with 4:36 left, but would get no closer the rest of the way.
