DOLPHINS STAY PERFECT WITH 60-58 OVERTIME WIN OVER SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Kim Wagoner scored 20 points as the Le Moyne College women's basketball team edged Northeast-10 Conference foe Southern New Hampshire in overtime, 60-58, at Ted Grant Court. Vanessa Holden and Danielle Felice knocked down crucial shots in the game's waning moments for the Dolphins (3-0, 2-0 NE-10) while Sara Tucker netted a game-high 26 points for the Penmen (0-3, 0-2 NE-10).

Both teams struggled to find an early offensive rhythm. The two squads combined for nine first-half field goals as the Dolphins shot 14.8% and the Penmen converted on 23.8% of their attempts. Three trifectas in the opening half narrowed the Southern New Hampshire lead to 23-17 at the halftime intermission.

Wagoner, honored in a pregame ceremony for scoring her 1,000th career point in a Feb. 19 road contest last season, scored 13 points in the second half and overtime. The senior knocked down 12-of-14 free throws including five in overtime to preserve the Le Moyne win.

With nine seconds remaining in the second half and the Dolphins trailing by two, junior Vanessa Holden knocked down a jumper from the right baseline to knot the game at 52. Holden finished with 11 points for the game. Freshman Danielle Felice netted the eventual game-winning bucket on a drive to hoop with 1:32 remaining in overtime. Felice joined Wagoner and Holden in the double-digit scoring column, netting 13 points in the first home game of her career. Sophomore Courtney Coryea finished with seven points, seven rebounds and two blocks for the Dolphins.

Le Moyne looks to remain perfect on the season when they host Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
