FRANKLIN PIERCE SQUEAKS BY LE MOYNE; DOGGING ELIMINATION.

RINDGE, NH. -The Le Moyne women's basketball team nearly defeated #2 Franklin Pierce in the quarter final round with a last second shot by Kathleen Gladstone that hit the front end. The Dolphins fall short 54-53, ending their season with an overall record of 15-13. Sophomore Courtney Coryea led the Dolphins with 14 points. Vanessa Holden and Katie Dunn each scored 9 points apiece in the Dolphins loss.

The Leedham sisters provided 17 points apiece for the Ravens leading them to victory. The first half was a constant back and forth battle seeing four ties and two lead changes between each team. The Dolphins tied the game at seventeen with two consecutive foul shots by Brandy Wangelin at the 8:15 mark. The Ravens would put a quick 6-0 run together to give them their largest separation of the half (23-17). Down 28-23, with 2:54 remaining , Wangelin hit a jumper to close the gap to 28-25 sending them into the half. The Dolphins bench kept them in striking distance providing 10 points off the bench.

The second half opened with a quick lay-up by the Ravens extending their lead to five. The Dolphins and Ravens quickly responded back and forth consistently changing leads. The game was knotted 53-53 with 1:31 left to expire on the clock. It was Coryea's jumper, assisted by Katie Dunn which gave the game its tenth tie. Coryea grabbed her 8^th rebound of the game after a Johannah Leedham missed jumper with :27 left on the clock. Head Coach Jeanne Murphy quickly called a timeout with :18 showing, down 54-53. Coming out of the timeout, Gladstone would drive and put up a jumper that hit front iron as time expired.
