South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne College senior forward
Vanessa Holden (Suffern, N.Y./Immaculate Heart
(N.J.)) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference women's
basketball player of the week, as announced by the conference
office on Monday afternoon.
Holden, the first Dolphin to earn women's player of the week honors
this season, averaged 24.5 points, seven rebounds, 2.5 blocks and
2.5 steals per game in leading the Dolphins to a pair of conference

eight point halftime lead. Holden followed up that performance by
registering a career-best 27 points, grabbed nine rebounds and
blocked four shots in a 57-45 come-from-behind victory over
Southern Connecticut State on Saturday. Holden, who is averaging
17.3 points and 8.3 rebounds over the last seven games, tallied 17
points in the second half against the Owls, including nine points
in Le Moyne's 25-10 run over the final 12 minutes of the game.
Le Moyne (13-10, NE-10 10-8), winners of five of its last six
games, sits a half-game ahead of The College of Saint Rose for the
seventh spot of the Northeast-10 Conference standings. The Dolphins
travel to face the Golden Knights Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in Albany.
