VECCHIO & MCCARTHY NET TWO GOALS EACH, DOLPHINS FALL TO #19 OREGON 15-7.

Eugene, Ore. - Despite two goals from Whitney Vecchio and Lisa McCarthy, the Le Moyne women's lacrosse team fell to #19 Oregon 15-7.  The loss was the second of the year for the Dolphins on the west coast and drops their record to 1-2 on the year. Oregon captured their fourth consecutive victory to improve their mark to 4-1 on the year.

The Ducks registered the first goal of the game as Liverpool native Theresa Waldron netted her first of three goals on the game six minutes into the contest. The Dolphins would respond :37 seconds latter as Vecchio evened the game at 1-1 on a free position shot. Oregon would outscore the Dolphins 7-0 over the remainder of the first half to take a commanding 8-1 lead into halftime.

After scoring the first three goals in the second half to take a 10-1 advantage, Vecchio scored her second goal of the game an assist from senior Kylie Rossette. Over the last 17 minutes of the second half, the Dolphins would net five more goals, highlighted by Maura Kenville's first career goal at the 7:33 mark, but it wasn't enough as Oregon scored the final two goals for the eight-goal victory.

Le Moyne returns to action on Friday, March 7th as they host Monmouth University at 3:00 PM. The game will be played at Solvay High School.
