BALANCED SCORING LEADS #9 WOMEN’S LACROSSE TO 17-3 WIN OVER SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE



Syracuse, N.Y. – Six players each scored two goals as the ninth-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team defeated Southern New Hampshire University, 17-3, on Friday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Field.

The Dolphins opened the scoring just 29 seconds into the game as senior midfielder Gabrielle Kamide (Deferiet, N.Y./Carthage) finished off a feed from freshman attacker Maggie Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker). Following back-and-forth play over a span of four and one-half minutes, senior attacker Brenna Bauer (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) converted a free-position shot for her 11th goal of the year.

Southern New Hampshire, which entered the game on a five-game win streak, got on the scoreboard with 23:58 remaining in the first half as Ellie Morin tallied an unassisted goal.

Le Moyne regained its two-goal lead with 21:09 left on a free-position goal by senior attacker Kelly Condon (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua). Just under three minutes later, junior attacker Kathleen Conese (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) recorded a free-position goal of her own. Maggie Monnat found the back of the net for the fifth time this season with 16:56 to go after curling around the left side of the goal. Freshman attacker Claire Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) tied her sister for the fifth-most goals on the team 76 seconds later after taking a pass from Condon. Junior midfielder Victoria Nies (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) gave the Dolphins a 7-1 advantage with 14:07 left after taking a pass from Conese and cutting down the center of the field.

Conese followed with an unassisted goal at the 10:36 mark for her team-leading 12th tally of the season. After a Southern New Hampshire turnover on a clear attempt, freshman midfielder Mary Fadden (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) netted her third goal of the year with 6:49 remaining. Just 36 seconds later, Kamide scored her second goal of the game for Le Moyne's 10th marker of the contest. Freshman midfielder Kaitlyn Armstrong (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) got into the scoring column with 4:36 left after taking a pass from the left side from Condon. Maggie Monnat finished off the scoring in the half with 19 seconds later off a feed from behind the goal from sophomore attacker Catie McKay (Penfield, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy).

Morin got the Penmen on the scoreboard first in the second half with a free-position goal at the 28:43 mark.

Bauer extended Le Moyne's lead back to 11 46 seconds later as she scored from the left edge of the crease off a dodge from eight yards out. After almost nine minutes of scoreless action, Condon converted a free-position shot for her 10th goal of the year.

Phoebe Clark answered for the Penmen with an unassisted goal with 15:24 remaining in the contest.

Senior midfielder Jennifer Fabian (Clay, N.Y./C.W. Baker) followed with a pair of free-position goals. The first came with 13:33 remaining, while she scored the second 88 seconds later. Freshman midfielder Morgan Kline (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) completed the game's scoring with her first career goal with 6:11 left.

Sophomore goalkeeper Molly Marbut (Edgewater, Md./South River) earned the win after making 11 saves in 52:39 between the pipes. Freshman Ryan Cortese (Brewerton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) stopped three shots over the final 7:21 in her collegiate debut. Maria Ploof made seven saves in taking the loss for the Penmen.

Le Moyne (4-2, 2-1 NE-10), which has won 17 straight regular season home games, returns to action on Wednesday at 14th-ranked New Haven at 4:00 p.m.
