SIX DOLPHINS EARN NE-10 ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS FOR FALL SEASON
Six Le Moyne College student-athletes earned Northeast 10 Conference All-Academic honors for this fall. Sophomores Megan O'Shea and Marisa Riverso were named to the women's soccer second team, while juniors Sara Poreda and Meg Turley were named to the third team. Jake McAndrew and Kelsey Ryan were named to the All-Academic first team in cross country.
A sophomore forward, Megan O'Shea (Biology) led the Dolphins in scoring in 2007. O'Shea scored nine goals and assisted on three others to earn third team All-Conference honors.
Marisa Riverso (Biology) saw action in 12 games this season, starting three. Riverso scored her first career goal against Assumption as the Dolphins captured a 2-0 victory.
Junior Sara Poreda (Math) is the third member of the women's soccer team to earn All-Academic honors. Coming off the bench, Poreda helped the Dolphins to a 9-8-1 record, marking the second time since 1994 that the Dolphins recorded nine wins in a season.
Meg Turley (Biology) played in all 18 games this season, starting 15. Turley scored two goals and assisted on one more from the midfield position.
An All-Region and All-Conference performer, sophomore Jake McAndrew (Biology) earned first team All-Academic honors in men's cross country. McAndrew placed sixth at the NE-10 Championships and 13th in the NCAA Regionals this fall. He also captured the 2007 Le Moyne College Invitational.
Senior Kelsey Ryan (Psychology/Political Science) earned All-Conference honors in placing 18th overall in the NE-10 Championships and 25th at the NCAA Regionals this past season. Ryan's best performance came in the Le Moyne Invitational where she placed third overall.
