WOMEN'S SOCCER AWARDED NE-10 SPORTSMANSHIP HONOR FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE SEASON
SOUTH EASTON, MA - The Le Moyne College women's soccer team was named recipient of the Northeast 10 Conference Sportsmanship award for the third consecutive season. The Dolphins have captured the honor each of the first three years that it has been awarded. The award program, which recognizes one team from each of the league's championship sports that best exemplified the spirit of sportsmanship and generally conducted themselves with a high degree of integrity, character and class, is in its third year.
"To be recognized by your peers as the team that best carries itself with integrity, character and class for the third straight season is an amazing accomplishment and it's a credit to every individual involved in our program. It really speaks to the quality of student athlete we have not only on our team, but at Le Moyne. We expect our players to play hard day in and day out, but it's fantastic to also know that they represent themselves and our institution in such a positive manner," said Head Coach Jimmy Riverso '02.
In June, one of the 15 conference institutions will receive the ‘David R. Brunk Institution of the Year Sportsmanship Award' as voted on by the conference Senior Women Administrator (SWA) council. Last year, Stonehill was selected as the award recipient.
