LAUREN ZIEMANN NAMED NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Le Moyne College sophomore Lauren Ziemann (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Swimming Co-Athlete of the Week. Ziemann, the winner of two events in Le Moyne's 169-97 dual meet win over Saint Rose, shared the honor with Amanda Albertian of Bentley. It marks the fourth consecutive week that a Le Moyne women's swimmer has claimed the honor and the fifth time this season.
Ziemann topped the 50 free in 26.55 and won the 100 free in 56.53. Ziemann's winning time in the 100 free marked her top time of the fall. She had previously swam a 56.63 in a sixth-place finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Dec. 6.
After opening the season with a pair of dual meet setbacks, Le Moyne (6-2) has rattled off six consecutive wins in women's team competition. The Dolphins also posted a second-place finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship.
Junior Alison Lesher (Sherrill, N.Y./V-V-S), the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Female Swimmer of the Meet, was named to the conference's honor roll for wins in the 1,000 free and 200 back. Lesher has been named the conference swimmer of the week four times this season, including the previous three weeks.
Le Moyne treks to Barbados for its yearly training trip starting on January 3. The Dolphins will open their second semester of action at Nazareth on January 14.
