Women's Swimming and Diving Top Stories![]() Mar 26, 2008NORTHEAST-10 NAMES MENS AND WOMENS SWIMMING & DIVING ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS; FOUR SELECTIONS FROM LE MOYNE.South Easton, Mass. The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the members of the 2007-2008 Mens and Womens Swimming & Diving All-Academic Teams. To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the teams competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors. [more] ![]() Mar 16, 2008LESHER WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP & CHIDSEY NAMED HONORABLE MENTION ALL-AMERICA AT 2008 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPSCOLUMBIA, MO - The 2008 NCAA Divison II Swimming & Diving Championships was highlighted by All-American senior Alison Lesher who captured Le Moyne's first ever individual national championship in the 200 butterfly. Additionally, junior Ricky Chidsey earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 100 and 200 backstroke. [more] ![]() Mar 16, 2008ALISON LESHER CAPTURES NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN 200 YARD BUTTERFLY AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPSCOLUMBIA, MO - Senior Alison Lesher earned an individual national championship in the 200 yard butterfly at the 2008 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships held in Columbia, Missouri. Lesher's time of 2:01.66 broke the school record and edged out UC San Diego's Jen Sims by 0.18 seconds. The title is the first ever individual national title in Le Moyne history. [more] ![]() Feb 25, 2008ALISON LESHER NAMED NE-10 SWIMMER OF THE WEEK FOR THRID TIMESOUTH EASTON, MA - Le Moyne senior Alison Lesher was named the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for February 25th. Lesher helped the Dolphins to a 3rd place finish at the NYSWCAA Champions by capturing first place in the 200 butterfly, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle. Click more for complete NE-10 release. [more] ![]() Feb 22, 2008SWIMMING PLACES 3RD AT 2008 NYSWCAA SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPSSYRACUSE, NY - Le Moyne hosted the 2008 NYSWCAA Swimming and Diving Championship Feb. 20-23 at Nottingham High school. Senior Alison Lesher placed first in three different individual events (500/200 yard freestyle & 200 yard butterfly). The Dolphins placed third out of 17 teams with 940.50 points. Union College topped the meet with 1,207 points. Ithaca College took second place with 1,016 points. [more] ![]() Feb 13, 2008LE MOYNES RICKY CHIDSEY AND NICOLE MURPHY RECEIVE NORTHEAST-10 SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEKSOUTH EASTON, Mass. Mens Swimming, Ricky Chidsey a junior from Liverpool, N.Y. received NE-10 Athlete of the Week. Chidsey led the way for the Dolphins Friday the 8th, in their loss to Hamilton, capturing four first place finishes. He was also part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:37.24) and captured individual victories in the 50 backstroke (24.20), 100 backstroke (52.05) and the 200 IM (1:58.35). [more] ![]() Feb 8, 2008WOMEN REGAIN WINNING WAYS WITH VICTORY OVER HAMILTON, MEN DROP FOURTH STRAIGHTSYRACUSE, NY - The Le Moyne women's swimming and diving team returned to their winning ways on Friday as they defeated Hamilton 171-117 in the final home meet of the season and improved to 11-1 on the year. The men dropped their fourth consecutive meet by the score of 166-121. Both teams will now prepare for the UNYSCSA meet beginning on Feb. 20th (women) and Feb. 27th (men). The 123-116 loss marked the first for the women in 11 dual meets this seaosn. Falling to Ithaca 150-85, the men have lost three straight meets. The men fell to the Tigers by the score of 164-127 and fall to 6-4 on the year. The women improved the unblemished record to 10-0 with 157-115 victory over RIT. ROSE IN NORTHEAST 10 CONFERENCE ACTIONALBANY, NY - The men's and women's swimming and diving teams captured victories on Saturday by defeating St. Rose. The men (6-2, 1-1) were victorious by the score of 119-100, while the women (8-0, 2-0) defeated the Golden Knights 139-86. Le Moyne captured first place in all but five events of the 37 event meet. The men's and women's squads defeated rival Nazareth on Friday. On Saturday, the men's team fell to Hartwick as the women were victorious.
