Syracuse, N.Y. – For their second Northeast Conference match of the season, the Le Moyne women's soccer team will host a familiar foe in Stonehill College at Ted Grant Field on Thursday at 3:00 p.m.

The Le Moyne and Stonehill women's soccer programs played 24 matches against one another during their time together in the Northeast-10 Conference.

The Dolphins are 7-14-3 all-time against the Skyhawks. Their last win over Stonehill came in October of 2016, when the 'Phins bested the Skyhawks by a score of 2-1 in Syracuse. During their last matchup as NE10 foes in 2021, Stonehill traveled to Ted Grant Field and claimed a 1-0 victory over the Dolphins. Le Moyne goalkeeper Allison Moreau (Sauquoit, N.Y./Sauquoit Valley) recorded 10 saves during that match.

Thursday's match at Le Moyne will be streamed on NEC Front Row.

Stonehill, a charter member of the Northeast-10 Conference, announced its move to Division I and the Northeast Conference in April of 2022. In the women's soccer program's first year at the Division I level last fall, the Skyhawks compiled a 4-13-1 record, including a 3-5-1 resume in the NEC.

The Skyhawks finished sixth in the 2022 NEC Standings, which would have given them the final spot in the six-team conference championship, however prior rules stated that reclassifying institutions were ineligible for conference postseason competition for two years during the transition to Division I.

In June of 2023, the NEC Presidents' Council unanimously voted to eliminate access restrictions to NEC Championships during an institution's transition to DI, making both Le Moyne and Stonehill eligible to compete in the Northeast Conference Championship in 2023.

Stonehill won each of their final three NEC battles to close out the 2022 season, with a 1-0 win over Howard, a 1-0 win over St. Francis College Brooklyn, which eliminated its entire athletic program at the end of the 2022-23 academic year, and a 4-3 win over FDU, which went on to win the 2022 NEC Championship match via penalty kicks over third-seeded Sacred Heart.

Le Moyne, it its first season as a Division I member of the NEC, made its Northeast Conference debut on Sunday against Howard University. The Dolphins outshot the visiting Bison by a tally of 11-9, but Howard scored the game's lone goal in 42nd minute to claim a 1-0 victory and three points in the conference standings.

Sophomore midfielder Alaina Carro (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent/Wheeling), junior forward Sierra Edwards (Greece, N.Y./Hilton/Monroe), sophomore midfielder Lindsey LeBlanc (Westminster, Mass./St. Bernard's), sophomore defender Jasmina Barhoumi (Worms, Germany/Nelly-Sachs-IGS/D'Youville) and junior forward Autumn Edwards (Greece, N.Y./Hilton/Monroe) each recorded a shot on goal during the setback on Sunday. The Dolphins earned three corner kicks and 17 free kicks during the 90 minutes against the Bison.

The 'Phins are currently 0-2-2 at Ted Grant Field in 2023, with losses to Howard and Canisius, and 1-1 draws against Rhode Island and Robert Morris.

Stonehill is currently 0-8-1 so far in 2023, and they most recently suffered a defeat to the University of Portland. The Skyhawks lost their NEC opener at Long Island University on September 14 by a score of 2-1.

Stonehill junior midfielder/forward Grace Caso, senior midfielder Emmy Dumaresq, junior midfielder/forward Karleigh Schultz, and junior midfielder Olivia Webster have each scored a goal this season for the Skyhawks, while sophomore midfielder Hannah Anselmo and freshman midfielder Grace Fitzgerald have both registered an assist.

During her rookie campaign last season, Anselmo was second on the team in points with two goals and three assists, while classmate Olivia Sharkansky was second on the team in goals with three.

Senior goalkeeper Mia Jackson has started seven games in goal for Stonehill in 2023 and has compiled 44 saves. She recorded nine saves during the team's NEC opener against LIU.

Fellow senior keeper Leanna Durham played the final 45 minutes against Portland, and she tallied 13 saves during Stonehill's 2-0 loss at Fordham on August 24.

The Howard University Bison are currently atop the NEC Standings with six points through two games, while Merrimack, Wagner, Central Connecticut, and Sacred Heart are currently 1-0 in conference.

Le Moyne's current 0.222 overall winning percentage is the seventh-best among the 11 NEC women's soccer programs.

Following Thursday's match against Stonehill, the Dolphins will hit the road for a conference matchup at LIU on Sunday.
