Bethany Fabian '13 M'17 was promoted to head volleyball coach on February 8, 2019.

Fabian, who has served six years as an assistant coach (2013, 2017-18) and graduate assistant coach (2014-16) prior to her promotion, guided the Dolphins to a 14-13 record in her first season, including a mark of 7-6 in Northeast-10 Conference play. The Dolphins earned the sixth seed in the NE10 Championship, snapping a two-year drought.

During her time as an assistant, Fabian was involved in all aspects of the program including in-game strategy, recruiting, in-season and out-of-season training, practice sessions as well as managed the team's video and scouting software.

The Dolphins posted a record of 90-66 (.577) over the six years under the direction of Cheek and Fabian. The 2015 team, the third season of the duo, won 20 matches and advanced to the Northeast-10 Conference Championship semifinals for the first time in nine years. The following year, the Dolphins won the NE10 Regular Season championship for the first time in the program's history after going 12-2 in NE10 action. The Dolphins earned their first-ever NCAA Championships berth and finished the season with 22 wins (tied for the second-most in the program's history) and a program-best .759 winning percentage. In 2018, the Dolphins went 15-9. Over the last four seasons, Fabian assisted with the development of 13 Dolphins who earned All-NE10 honors.

During her four seasons as a student-athlete, Fabian played in 377 sets over 107 matches. She registered 839 kills, 1168 digs, 126 blocks and 102 service aces. In the program's history, she ranks fifth in service percentage (.953), sixth in digs, tied for seventh in matches played, 13th in kills and 14th in total points (1015.5).

Fabian received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with Minors in Criminology and Philosophy in 2013 and a Masters in Business Administration in 2017.
