LE MOYNE ATHLETICS UNVEILS FIVE-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN

8/31/2023 11:48:00 AM

Syracuse, N.Y. – An important step of its reclassification process transitioning to Division I, the Le Moyne Athletic Department has released its Strategic Plan for the next five years – "Elevating to New Heights."

The detailed plan includes seven Strategic Priorities with 42 Objectives (six for each Strategic Priority) and 196 Recommended Actions. The entire document numbers 58 pages and was submitted to the NCAA as a requirement of the Division I application process.

Over the course of several months last winter and spring, the Athletic Department's senior leadership team collaborated with Head Coaches, staff, faculty members, clergy and student-athletes to develop the plan, which will span through 2028, covering the entire reclassification period.

"It is with great enthusiasm that we unveil our Strategic Plan, "Elevating the New Heights," the first Strategic Plan in our Department's history," stated Director of Athletics & Recreation Bob Beretta. "This plan will serve as our road map to success throughout the Department's reclassification period. It covers the next five years and will serve as our North Star.

"We developed the Strategic Plan with an eye towards reclassifying to Division I, and adjusted our department Mission and Vision statements accordingly. However, one thing we did not alter was the presence of our Jesuit core values. Those important guide posts will forever shape all that we do."

The plan identifies seven Strategic Priorities for the next five years:
  • Alignment with College Leadership and Priorities
  • Reclassification to Division I
  • Uniquely Jesuit Student-Athlete Formation
  • Resource Optimization
  • Intentional and Meaningful Engagement
  • Relentless Pursuit of Competitive Excellence
  • Greatness Meets Goodness: Diversity & Integrity
"Le Moyne Athletics operates in an ecosystem that is constantly changing," Beretta added. "Therefore, this Strategic Plan is a living document that will require continual assessment and flexibility. We will report annually on our progress toward completing these Objectives.
"With so many new opportunities on the horizon, we feel strongly that the best days for Le Moyne Athletics lie ahead of us!"
