CHARLESTON, S.C. – Wes Brundridge went 2-for-5 with a 3-run home run to lift Charleston Southern to an 8-0 baseball win over Le Moyne at Buccaneer Field. Three Charleston Southern (4-9) pitchers combined for a seven-hit shutout over the Dolphins (1-3).
Andy Parrino (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport), Keith Connors (Jamesport, N.Y./Commack) and Robert Perez (Miami, Fla./Belen Jesuit) had two hits each for Le Moyne. Perez and Connors doubled for the Dolphins.
After going without a hit over the first three innings, Charleston Southern touched up Le Moyne freshman starter Brian Pullyblank (Caledonia, N.Y./Caledonia-Mumford) for four runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Freshman Eric Beaulac (Troy, N.Y./Troy) allowed one run, struck out two and yielded five hits in three innings. Freshman Brandon Otto (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) gave up the three-run home run to Brundridge in the eighth.
Le Moyne has dropped three of four over the season-opening trip to South Carolina. The Dolphins play at the Citadel on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
