WOMEN'S LACROSSE COMPLETES PROGRAM'S FIRST UNBEATEN MAAC SEASON, SETS PROGRAM WIN MARK WITH 16-6 VICTORY OVER NIAGARA

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Sophomore Emily Donnells (Penn Yan, N.Y./Penn Yan) scored four goals to pace Le Moyne to a 16-6 win over Niagara in a MAAC women's lacrosse game at Niagara. The Dolphins (13-3, 7-0 MAAC) complete their league schedule unbeaten for the first time and set a program record with their 13th win.

Donnells led eight Le Moyne players in the scoring column. Junior Amanda Keegan (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus), the team's scoring leader with 41 goals and 56 points, netted three goals. Freshman Lisa McCarthy (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) and senior Liz Hewitt (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) each scored two goals and assisted on two goals. Lauren Byrne (Syracuse, N.Y./Bishop Ludden) tallied two goals, while Whitney Vecchio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown), Meghan Burgoon (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) and Elise Charlier (Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City) scored one each.

Niagara (6-9, 2-5 MAAC) took its only lead with the game's first goal 1:59 into the contest. Le Moyne rattled off four of the next five goals to take a lead the Dolphins would not relinquish. Keegan scored her three goals in the opening half as Le Moyne opened up a four-goal edge at the intermission. She capped the first-half scoring with 2:26 remaining to make it 8-4.

Donnells scored the first two goals of the second half as Le Moyne scored seven of the first eight in the second session to take a 15-5 lead.

Le Moyne, the top seed for the four-team MAAC tournament, will play the No. 4 seed on Friday at Iona. Marist and Manhattan are currently tied for the final playoff spot, but will close out their regular season schedule against one another at Marist on Monday night at 8 p.m.
