PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Le Moyne College softball team used five home runs to defeat Pace University in a Northeast 10 Conference double header on Tuesday. The victory moves the Dolphins to 23-12, 16- 3 on the season. The Setters fall to 12-24, 3-13 in conference.
Le Moyne blasted four home runs in game one to defeat Pace 13-5. Senior Lindsay Spaziani (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), Jennifer Farrelly (Latham, NY /Shaker), Emma Murphy (East Syracuse, NY / East Syracuse-Minoa) and Kortney Meadows (Orchard Park, NY / Orchard Park) blasted home runs to lead the Dolphins to victory. Farrelly pitched three innings in relief to pick up the victory.
The Dolphins rallied for eight runs in the second inning in game two as Le Moyne took the second game of the doubleheader 12-1. Â Emma Murphy delivered her second home run of the day and six different Dolphins collected two hits each to lead Le Moyne to victory. Martha Senko (Pine City, NY / Elmira Free Academy) earned the victory after pitching five strong innings, holding the Setter to four hits and one earned run.
Le Moyne returns to action on Thursday as the Dolphins will host St. Michael's in a double header on the Le Moyne College campus. First pitch is set for 3:00 pm.
