POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Le Moyne College baseball team defeated Marist in a MAAC doubleheader on Saturday 6-2 and 7-2. The Dolphins have won 11 consecutive games. After Saturday's games, Le Moyne is in a tie for the largest active win streak in the nation. The victories improve the Dolphins' record to 19-15 and 13-2 in the MAAC. Marist falls to 11-24 and 7-9 in conference.

The Dolphins struck first in game one, scoring two runs on a Chris Haynes (Manlius, N.Y. /Fayetteville-Manlius) single and Corey O'Neill (Pittsford, N.Y. /McQuaid Jesuit) walk with the bases loaded. Bobby Blevins (Briarcliff, N.Y. /Briarcliff) pitched eight and a third innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and recorded four strikeouts. The Red Foxes pushed across a run in the fourth and sixth inning to tie the game 2-2. That score would stand until the top of the tenth inning when the Dolphins exploded for four runs on RBI singles by Chris Haynes, Alex Del Valle (Miami, Fla. /Columbus) and Chris Edmondson (Johnson City, N.Y. /Johnson City). Ryan Woods (Jacksonville, Fla. /Englewood) picked up the victory in relief recording the final five outs of the game.

In game two, Chris Haynes and Corey O'Neill led the Dolphins once again. In the top of the third inning, Haynes and O'Neill drove in one run each on RBI singles. In the fifth inning, to duo delivered two more runs on O'Neill's RBI double to left center and Haynes' single to center. Andy Parrino (Brockport, N.Y. /Brockport) struck a double to left center to cap off a five run fourth inning for the Dolphins.  Sophomore right-hander Eric Beaulac earned the win to improve his record to 6-1 on the season. Beaulac pitched six strong innings allowing two runs and striking out six.

Le Moyne will wrap up their series with Marist on Sunday as they take on the Red Foxes in a nine inning game starting at Noon.
