LAURENCE EKPERIGIN SELECTED TO 2007-2008 NCAA DIVISION
II MEN'S BASKETBALL NORTHEAST ALL-REGION TEAM.
ALBANY, N.Y. - The 2007-08 Daktronics NCAA
Division II men's basketball All-Northeast Region squad has a
decidedly different look to it with eight new players from a year
ago, including four sophomores. Sports Information Directors
throughout the Northeast Region conducted the voting.
The second team is comprised of Merrimack sophomore guard Darren
Duncan (Briarwood, NY), sophomore forwards Laurence Ekperigin (Cortlandt Manor, NY) of Le Moyne and
Malcolm Ingram (Philadelphia, PA) of Philadelphia University;
Bentley sophomore guard Jason Westrol (Brielle, NJ), and senior
forwards Vincent Falzone (Middle Village) of Molloy and Brian
Monahan (Kinderhook, NY) of Saint Michael's.

Ekperigin led the Dolphins in scoring and rebounding with
averages of 17.4 points and 8.5 boards. Ekperigin, a member of the
Northeast-10 Conference All Rookie Team his freshman season and
All-Northeast-10 Conference First Team this season, emerged as one
of the conference's premiere big men during his sophomore campaign.
He collected eleven double-doubles on the season and set single
game career-highs in points (29 against No. 1 Bentley) and rebounds
(17 against St. Anselm). Statistically, he ranked third in field
goal percentage, fifth in rebounding and sixth in scoring in the
Norteast-10 Conference.
Le Moyne fell to No. 1 Bentley, 67-64 in overtime, in the
Northeast-10 Conference Quaterfinals. The Dolphins finished 15-14
overall, 12-10 in the Northeast-10 and 11-3 at Ted Grant Court for
the 2007-08 campaign.
