Loudonville, NY – The Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team outscored the Siena Saints 10-2 in the second half to secure their fourth consecutive victory on Tuesday. With the win, Le Moyne improves to 7-4 on the year. Siena falls to 2-6 on the season.
Le Moyne jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage on freshman Rebekah Elmer's 17th goal of the season. Michelle Lissner added the first of her four goals on the day to push the lead to 2-0. After Siena's Ryan Tierney broke through for the Saint, the Dolphins traded goal with Siena head into halftime with a slim 3-2 lead.
The Dolphins scored the first four goals of the second half, two by Whitney Vecchio, to take a 7-2 advantage with over 18 minutes to play. Following a goal by Catherine Quinlan, the Le Moyne outscored Siena 6-1 over the final 15 minutes to cruise to the 13-4 victory.
Le Moyne was led on offense by Michelle Lissner's four goals. Senior Whitney Vecchio (3 g, 2 a) and Kylie Rosette (1 g, 4 a) also chipped in with five points each. Six other Dolphins rounded out the balanced attack with one goal each.
In goal, senior Samantha Falcone recorded 10 saves against only four goals to record her seventh win of the season.
The Dolphins return to action on Friday, April 4th as they travel to face Niagara at 5:00 PM at the Nichols School campus in Buffalo, NY.
