BROOKVILLE, NY – The Le Moyne College softball advances in the winner's bracket of the NCAA Northeast Regional with a 9-1 victory over sixth seeded Bryant Bulldogs on Thursday. The Dolphins (45-9) were sparked by Caitlin O'Neill's two-out, two-run double in the fifth inning in defeating the Bulldogs (30-15) via the mercy rule.

While rain slowed the start of the day's events, it didn't slow the Dolphin bats. Bailey Phillips led of the game with a double to left field. With the bases loaded, Emma Murphy drove in the game's first run on a single through the left side. The Bulldogs responded with a run in the second inning as Stephanie Mirando doubled in the tying run to even the game at 1-1.

The Dolphins opened up the game in the fifth inning as Le Moyne struck for eight runs in the final two innings off NE-10 Pitcher of the Year Janine Enos. In the fifth, O'Neill drove in two runs with her double and Kelly Schweikert added another on an RBI single to left center. Le Moyne closed out the game in the bottom of the sixth inning scoring five runs on five hits and four Bulldog errors. Schweikert's double to left center plated Sarah Reed and give the Dolphins the eight-run mercy rule victory.

Reed started in the circle going 4.1 innings, allowing three hits and one run. For the second consecutive game, Jennifer Farrelly closed the door holding the Bulldogs scoreless over the final 1.2 innings earning the win in relief.

Bailey Phillips paced the Dolphin offense with three hits. VanGorder, Reed and Schweikert each added two hits to round out the 12-hit attack.

Le Moyne advances to face the winner of the C.W. Post / Caldwell game on Friday at 2:00 PM.
