Garden City, N.Y. – Mandy Stanislovaitis recorded a double-double to lead top-seeded Adelphi University to a 3-1 win over the fourth-seeded Le Moyne College volleyball team in the Northeast-10 Conference Championship semifinals on Friday evening at the Center for Recreation and Sport.
The Dolphins opened the match with a 25-22 victory in the first set. After the teams split the first six points, Adelphi tallied five of the next six points for an 8-4 lead. The Dolphins countered with four straight points and eight of the next 10 to take a 12-10 edge. After Adelphi closed within 13-12, the Panthers committed back-to-back errors to give the Dolphins a three-point advantage and force an Adelphi timeout. Following a tie at 21, the Dolphins recorded a pair of 2-0 spurt around an Adelphi point to win the set.
Adelphi, which went undefeated in conference action during the regular season (14-0), evened the match at one apiece with a 25-17 win in the second set. After the teams split the first six points again, the Panthers scored four in a row and eight of the next nine around a Le Moyne timeout to take an 11-4 lead. Le Moyne countered with six of the next eight to get within 13-10 and force an Adelphi timeout. Following six points from each team over the next 12 points, the Panthers tallied a pair of 3-0 runs around a Le Moyne point to close out the set.
The Panthers took a 2-1 lead in the match with a 25-19 victory in the third set. Le Moyne jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the set before Adelphi clawed back to tie the score at seven. Following a tie at eight, the Panthers tallied five of the next six points for a 13-9 advantage. Le Moyne countered with a 5-1 run of its own to knot the score at 14 and force an Adelphi timeout. Adelphi scored the first four points out of the timeout and six of the first seven to take a five point lead. The Dolphins got within three on three occasions, the last of which was 22-19, but the Panthers scored the last three points to claim the set.

Molly Gallagher (Schenectady, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) added 17 and 11 digs, respectively. All-conference sophomore setter
Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) directed the offense with 38 assists, while adding six digs.
Stanislovaitis registered a match-high 20 kills and finished with 13 digs, while posting two service aces. Shelby Stoner hit .387 in the match en route to 17 kills, while adding six blocks and five digs. Northeast-10 Player and Setter of the Year Megan Manierski dished out 54 assists and recorded digs and five blocks. NE-10 Libero of the Year Sierra Crook led the Panthers defensively with 32 digs. McKenna Clawson also posted a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs, while Ajsha Mekulovic added 10 digs.
Le Moyne falls to 20-8 on the season and now awaits word on a possible bid to the NCAA Championships. The 64-team field will be announced on NCAA.com on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
