Syracuse, N.Y. – Only six days after eclipsing the previous record, junior attacker
Maggie Monnat (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) dished out a program record 10 assists to lead the fifth-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 20-1 win over American International College on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Field.
Monnat, who was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week earlier in the day, dished out nine of her 10 assists in the first half. The 10 helpers surpass her previous record of eight set last Wednesday against Southern Connecticut State. The 10 assists are the most in Division II this season and are the most by a Northeast-10 Conference player since Adelphi's Claire Peterson had three games with at least 10 assists during the 2011 season.
Senior attacker
Julia Suriani (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca East) scored three of her game-high five goals off passes from Monnat, while senior midfielder
Laura Hoffman (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua) netted three of her four goals off feeds from Monnat. Junior attacker
Erica Geremia (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee/SUNY Cortland) scored all three of her goals after receiving the ball from Monnat, while also dishing out four assists. Sophomore midfielders
Molly McGuane (Marcellus, N.Y./Marcellus) and

Geremia got the Dolphins on the scoreboard just 39 seconds into the game with a shot from the left side off a pass from Monnat. After two empty possessions by each team, Suriani found the back of the net for the 27th time this season with 26:59 left after collecting a pass from Monnat, who then fed Hoffman 22 seconds later for her 17th goal of the campaign.
Freshman attacker
Abbie McEntee (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia) gave the Dolphins a 4-0 lead with 24:10 left, while Geremia scored again off a pass from Monnat 61 seconds later. Suriani scored her second goal of the afternoon with 21:30 remaining off a feed from Monnat.
The Dolphins then scored four times in 79 seconds to take a double-digit lead. McGuane started the spurt by converting a free-position shot with 18:57 left, while Suriani finished off a pass from Pollard 25 seconds later. Pollard got into the scoring column with 18:00 remaining after collecting a pass from Monnat, while Geremia completed her scoring for the day 22 seconds later after receiving a feed from Monnat.
Hoffman and McGuane combined for the final five goals of the half. Following five scoreless minutes, Hoffman tallied an unassisted goal for an 11-0 advantage. After three saves by senior goalkeeper
Molly Marbut (Edgewater, Md./South River) over 1:28, Hoffman recorded her third marker of the contest with 8:20 left off a pass from Monnat. McGuane scored the next two goals off passes from Geremia. The first came at 5:39, while her career-best third of the game was at the 1:16 mark. Hoffman finished off the scoring with her 20th goal of the year by finishing off a pass from Monnat with 40 seconds left. With the assist, Monnat eclipsed her single-game record of eight set last week.
American International got onto the scoreboard just 24 seconds into the second half as Kelly Reilly scored off a pass from Carrie Davis.
Suriani got the Dolphins into the scoring column in the second half by finding the back of the net at the 23:05 mark off a pass from Monnat. The assist was Monnat's 35th of the season, which ties her for second on the program's single-season chart.
Suriani completed her scoring for the day two and one-half minutes later after receiving a pass from Geremia in an extra-man situation.
Sophomore attacker
Alexis Garbarino (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) registered her second goal of the season with 18:06 left, while senior midfielder
Gabrielle Navarra (Watertown, N.Y./Immaculate Heart Central/Jefferson C.C.) recorded her first goal as a Dolphin with 6:22 left off a pass from Geremia. Redshirt freshman midfielder
Nicole Easterly (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill/Onondaga C.C.) completed the game's scoring with a free-position goal with 4:51 left.
