VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS FRANKLIN PIERCE, 3-0, FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN

Rindge, N.H. – Junior right side Jessica Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) landed 12 kills to lead the Le Moyne College volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Franklin Pierce University on Friday evening in Northeast-10 Conference action at The Fieldhouse.
 
The Dolphins, who are ranked seventh in this week's NCAA East Region rankings, opened the match with the first five points and eight of the first nine en route to a 25-15 win in the first set. Le Moyne tallied the first four points of the second set and registered a 25-14 victory after scoring 10 of the last 13 points. After the teams split the first two points of the third set, the Dolphins rattled off eight consecutive points for a 9-1 lead. The Dolphins pushed out to an 21-13 lead before the Ravens responded with an 8-2 run to get within 23-21. Le Moyne put the match away with a pair of kills for a 25-21 win.

Miller hit .417 en route to her match-high 12 kills, seven of which came in the third set, while she added three blocks and three digs. Junior outside hitter Anna Hafoka (Hurst, Texas/L.D. Bell) recorded nine kills, four digs and three blocks. Senior setter Kendall Corcoran (Fort Salonga, N.Y./Kings Park) dished out 20 assists and posted two service aces, while freshman setter Emily Yancone (Rochester, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy) handed out 15 assists and recorded seven digs. Senior outside hitter Marguerite Dillon (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) led the Dolphins defensively with 12 digs, while tallying seven kills.

Abigail Garnhart, Hannah St. Jean and Danielle Varricchio each registered six kills for the Ravens, while St. Jean had four blocks and Varricchio recorded nine digs. Hannah Runge directed the offense with 25 assists and contributed seven digs. Brittney Carias led the defense with 12 digs.

Le Moyne (14-11, 7-6 NE10), which has won four straight matches, closes out the regular season on Saturday at Southern New Hampshire University at 1:00 p.m. A win over the Penmen clinches a berth in the NE10 Championships, which begin on Tuesday.
