Syracuse, N.Y. – Freshman attacker
Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) tallied five goals to lead the third-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 10-6 win over 19th-ranked Stonehill College on Saturday morning in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Field.
Junior attacker
Jacqueline Pardee (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) started the game's scoring just 1:32 into the game with her 19th goal of the year off a pass from sophomore attacker
Maddie Knapp (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson).
Stonehill responded with three goals over a span of 2:15. Shannon Booth evened the score at one apiece at the 25:09 mark off a feed from Elizabeth Vetter. The Skyhawks took the lead with 23:25 left in the half as Vetter finished off a pass from Taylor Shannahan. Just 31 seconds later, Shannahan fed Jennifer Wheaton for her 11th goal of the season.
Le Moyne answered back with four straight goals to regain the lead. Senior midfielder
Vicki Graveline (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) ignited the run by corralling the draw and scoring just nine seconds after Wheaton scored. Hall netted her first goal of the day with 20:03 left in the half by converting a free-position shot. Graveline put the Dolphins in front at the 15:26 mark by converting a free-position shot of her own. Senior attacker
Alexis Garbarino (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) followed with a goal from the front of the crease with 12:34 to go in the half off a pass from the right by Knapp.
The teams then alternated goals over a seven-minute stretch. Kelly Healey pulled the Skyhawks within one with an unassisted goal with 11:25 to go, but Hall answered with her 10th goal of the season with 9:03 remaining. As her older sister did, Kaitlin Healey got Stonehill within one with 7:19 left in the half. Graveline pushed Le Moyne's lead back to two with 4:34 to play in the half after taking a pass from Knapp.
Hall, who is the fifth Dolphin this season to record five points in a game, finished off the scoring in the half with 1:49 left after collecting a pass from Knapp.
Following 17 minutes of scoreless action to start the second half, the Dolphins extended their lead to four. After setting up for a free-position attempt, Pardee led Hall on the left edge of the crease at the 12:55 mark for her 12th goal of the campaign. Hal then found the back of the net off a free-position shot with 10:55 left in the game to complete her team's scoring.
Stonehill snapped its scoring drought of 31:40, including 24:21 to start the second half, at the 5:39 mark as Vetter registered a free-position goal.
Freshman goalkeeper
Hannah George (Johnson City, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) registered five saves, including three in the second half, to earn her conference-leading eighth win of the season. Bailey Grant turned away eight shots in her second career start.
