Since we had a quote by Lebron a few weeks ago, we thought Kobe deserved a nod this week. When we came across this quote, we felt that it perfectly aligned with the theme of this year: All In All One All Dolphins. This simple statement seems like something so small, but to actively live by its meaning takes true dedication. Teams that take this quote to heart and live it win championships. Talent can only take you so far.
As Derek Jeter said, "there may be people that have more talent than you but there's no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do." If two superstar athletes from different sports and backgrounds can have such similar values, there may be a reason why they and their teams have had such success in their tenures. Some of the most valuable members on a team are those who work hard at practice every day and make the team better, even if they are rarely granted the opportunity to see the court or field.
The best players don't win, the best teams do.
