FOURTH-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE OPENS NE10 PLAY WITH 12-3 WIN AT 24TH-RANKED STONEHILL

Easton, Mass. – Junior attacker Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) recorded five points and nine draw controls to lead the fourth-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 12-3 win over Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday evening at W.B. Stadium.

Following almost 16 minutes of scoreless action to start the game, the Dolphins struck for three goals in 1:09. Freshman Emily Altland (North Bennington, Vt./Mount Anthony Union) got the scoring started at the 14:13 mark with an unassisted tally. Only 29 seconds later, sophomore attacker Sidney Halls (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) registered her 17th goal of the campaign. Fazio completed the run 40 seconds later by converting a free-position shot.

Stonehill answered back with two goals in a span of 1:22. MacKenzie Pieshaw netted her 15th goal of the year with 9:33 remaining in the half. Linna Jalinskas followed with a free-position goal with 8:11 to go before halftime.

Junior midfielder Monica Sanna (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford) completed the scoring in the first half with a free-position goal with 6:18 remaining in the half.

The Dolphins blew the game open with the first five goals of the second half. Junior attacker Madison Pritchard (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee/Onondaga C.C./Canisius) started the run just 43 seconds into the half by scoring off a free-position shot. Hall followed with a free-position goal of her own with 25:12 remaining. Freshman attacker Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) gave the Dolphins a five-goal lead at the 18:10 mark with an unassisted tally. Just under two minutes later, Fazio registered her 10th goal of the year. Sanna capped the run with 13:51 left after taking a pass from Fazio.

Taylor Shannahan finished off a feed from Brianna Doherty with 10:44 remaining, but that would mark Stonehill's only goal of the second half.

Le Moyne scored the final three goals of the contest over the last 8:15. Fazio got the Dolphins into double digits by finding the back of the net off a feed from Hall. McMullen gave the Dolphins an 11-3 advantage with 3:24 left by finishing off a pass in transition from sophomore defender Olivia McEntee (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia). Fazio closed out the game's scoring 34 seconds later with a free-position goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Hannah George (Johnson City, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) registered eight saves, including five in the second half, to earn her 21st consecutive regular-season victory. Bailey Grant recorded 14 saves, including eight in the second half, in the loss.

Le Moyne (5-0, 1-0 NE10), which has played and defeated a ranked team in all five games this season, takes on its first unranked team on Tuesday at Franklin Pierce University at 12:00 p.m.
