DeWitt, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season, 4-1, to Adelphi University on Sunday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Elevate Fitness.

The Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the match by winning the first two matches of the doubles competition. At the first position, Barbie Quagliardi and Nicole Kielan edged sophomore Birdem Oz (Istanbul, Turkey/TED Ankara College Foundation HS) and freshman Francesca Lilliegren (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio Alemán Humboldt Guayaquil), 7-6. Amanda Franstedt and Nicole Stay were 6-3 winners at the second spot over juniors Marta Nunez (Rye, N.Y./Antonio Lopez (Spain)) and Rebecca Peters (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn/Cayuga C.C.). With the doubles point decided, the third doubles match was not played.

Adelphi (7-2, 7-1 NE10) claimed wins at three of the top four spots in the singles competition to secure the victory. Stay earned Adelphi's fourth point of the afternoon, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, at the fourth position over Peters. Lilliegren registered her team-best eighth dual-match victory of the season by defeating Franstedt at the third spot, 6-4, 6-2.
