Syracuse, N.Y. – Dana Watts registered her fifth career double-double against the Le Moyne College women's basketball team to lead American International College to a 72-42 win over the #23/22 Dolphins on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action at Ted Grant Court.
Junior guard
McKayla Roberts (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) scored 18 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, while grabbing a team-high six rebounds. Redshirt sophomore guard
Liz Millea (Cooperstown, N.Y./Cooperstown) was the only other Dolphin in double digits with 11 points.
Watts, who averaged 21.83 points and 11.33 rebounds in her six career starts against the Dolphins, recorded game-highs of 28 points, including 14 in each half, and 12 rebounds. Alyssa Guyon tallied 22 points, including 13 in the second half, and pulled down five rebounds. Dominique Boyd scored all 10 of her points in the second half, while Rashana Siders led all players in the game with nine assists.

Erin Fouracre (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central) made a lay-up off a pass from Roberts for her 400th career assist.
After Watts made a lay-up and Guyon hit her first of four three-pointers in the game to tie the score, the Dolphins scored five of the next seven points to regain the lead. Roberts put the Dolphins in front with a three-pointer for her 1,100th career point and then freshman forward
Jenna Zimmerman (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) finished off a pass from Roberts for a 12-9 lead.
American International scored five of the last six points in the quarter to take the lead, which it would not relinquish the remainder of the game. Guyon made a jumper and then two players combined to make three free throws for a 14-13 lead after the first quarter.
The Yellow Jackets tied an all-divisions NCAA record by holding the Dolphins scoreless in the second quarter, while scoring 14 points of their own. The Dolphins were 0-for-10 from the field in the period and committed seven turnovers. Watts scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds in the quarter, while Guyon scored the other four points.
Millea started the scoring in the third quarter with a jumper, snapping a scoreless drought of 11:52, but AIC countered with eight straight to take its first 20-point lead of the game. Boyd made a lay-up and then Guyon drilled a pair of three-pointers.
Following a jumper by Millea to get the Dolphins within 19 for the final time, the Yellow Jackets scored seven straight points for their largest lead of the quarter. Watts made a lay-up, Guyon hit another three-pointer and Siders converted a jumper in the paint with 3:09 to go.
AIC's lead alternated between 24 and 26 points the remainder of the quarter and settled at 24 (51-27) following 30 minutes of play.
The Yellow Jackets scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter to take a 61-27 lead. Watts scored the first eight points and then Nadia Wooten made a lay-up.
AIC later used a 5-0 spurt to take its largest lead of the game, 68-31, with 4:28 to play. Watts made a jumper and then Siders buried a three-pointer from the right wing.
Le Moyne countered with an 11-4 run to deliver the final margin. Roberts hit a three-pointer and made two lay-ups before Fouracre hit a fast-break jumper in the paint and freshman forward
Emma Brinker (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) made a jumper of her own.
Le Moyne (18-4, 12-4 NE10), which suffered its first home loss of the season, is back in action on Saturday against Southern Connecticut State University at 1:00 p.m.
