FAZIO BREAKS PROGRAM’S CAREER POINTS RECORD AS TOP-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE OPENS NE10 PLAY WITH 19-2 WIN OVER STONEHILL

Syracuse, N.Y. – Senior attacker Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) broke the program's career points record as the top-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team registered a 19-2 win over Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Field.

Fazio registered eight points in the game, the second of which broke the program's career points record with her 243rd point. The previous record of 242 belonged to Amanda Keegan '07.

Senior midfielder Monica Sanna (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford) started the scoring at the 26:42 mark by converting a free-position shot. Just over two and one-half minutes later, Fazio equaled Keegan's mark by netting her 15th goal of the season. Sanna made it 3-0 with 22:08 remaining with her 11th goal of the campaign.

Fazio broke Keegan's record at the 20:59 mark by finishing off a pass from sophomore midfielder Lauren Ferris (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee).

Ferris recorded her second straight assist 96 seconds later as sophomore attacker Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) scored her eighth goal of the season. Sanna completed her first-half hat trick with an unassisted goal with 17:29 to play. Just 20 seconds later junior midfielder Julia Sardella (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Siena) tallied her fifth goal of the year after taking a feed from junior attacker Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson).

Le Moyne pushed the lead to 8-0 30 seconds later as junior midfielder Nicole Delany (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) recorded her 13th goal of the season after collecting a pass from Fazio, who then fed Sardella for goals at 15:35 and 14:56.

Following 6:43 of scoreless action, Delany found the back of the net at the 8:13 mark off a pass from Sardella. Delany followed four minutes later with another goal off a feed from Ferris.

Sardella made it 13-0 with 2:31 left in the half, while McMullen closed out the half's scoring with 56 seconds left after receiving a pass from Fazio.

Hall opened the second half's scoring at the 28:23 mark off a pass from Fazio.

Stonehill got on the scoreboard at the 24:18 mark as Olivia Pino converted a free-position shot for her sixth goal of the season. Following a free-position goal by Fazio with 20:58 left, Jill McIntire scored her team's second goal with 19:31 remaining.

Senior midfielder Grace Milmoe (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia/William Smith) pushed Le Moyne's lead to 17-2 with 16:11 left after collecting an errant pass.

Sophomore attacker Brittney Pollack (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) and junior attacker Claire Herrmann (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) connected for the final two goals of the game. Pollack scored off a pass from Herrmann with 13:37 left, while the duo reversed roles with 10:46 to play.

Junior goalkeeper Hannah George (Johnson City, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) made one save (against one goal) to earn the win between the pipes. Bailey Grant recorded four saves (against 14 goals) in the loss for the Skyhawks.

Le Moyne (5-0, 1-0 NE10), which won its sixth straight NE10 opener, is back in action on Monday against Franklin Pierce University at 3:00 p.m.
