Manchester, N.H. – Junior midfielder
Nicole Delany (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) recorded a career high-tying eight points to lead the top-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 21-8 win over Saint Anselm College on Saturday morning in Northeast-10 Conference at Grappone Stadium.
The Hawks opened the game with the first two goals. Molly Beck netted the first goal at the 26:50 mark, while Taylor Cobain followed with 25:34 remaining in the half.
Le Moyne answered with four straight goals to take the lead. Junior attacker
Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) started the scoring with her 22nd goal of the year at the 22:56 mark. Delany evened the score with 18:07 remaining and put the Dolphins in front at the 17:38 mark off a feed from senior midfielder
Monica Sanna (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford). Sophomore attacker
Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) pushed the margin to 4-2 off a feed from Delany with 17:03 left.
Cobain got Saint Anselm within one for the final time with 16:19 left in the half.
The Dolphins countered with 10 of the next 11 goals to take a double-digit lead. Junior midfielder
Julia Sardella (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Siena) ignited the run at the 15:50 mark with her 19th goal of the year. Senior attacker
Bryanna Fazio (Watertown, N.Y./General Brown) scored her first of the day and 33rd of the season just 32 seconds later. Sardella found the back of the net again with 13:27 remaining. Sanna netted her 21st goal of the campaign with 12:44 left for an 8-3 lead.
Jenna Balboni got the Hawks back within four with 9:40 left in the half.
Fazio started a 6-0 run with 7:59 remaining off a feed from Delany, who scored her 27th goal of the campaign 24 seconds later. Sanna followed 11 seconds later off a pass from Delany. Hall made it four goals in 1:18 with her 23rd tally of the season with 6:41 to go. Delany pushed Le Moyne's lead to 13-4 with a free-position goal with 5:04 remaining in the half. McMullen made it a double-digit lead with 3:23 left.
Balboni got the Hawks back within single digits with 2:25 remaining, but McMullen answered with her 31st marker of the season with 1:51 remaining off a pass from Fazio to give the Dolphins a 15-5 lead at halftime.
Balboni started the scoring in the second half with an unassisted tally 26 seconds into the stanza.
Le Moyne countered with five straight goals to take its largest lead of the game. Hall started the outburst with a free-position goal with 28:43 left for her 24th tally of the campaign. Fazio scored the next two goals off free-position shots with 22:37 and 20:51 left. Sanna tallied her 23rd goal of the season off a free-position shot with 18:45 remaining in the game. Fazio registered her fifth goal of the game with 16:22 to play after receiving a pass from Delany.
Saint Anselm scored two of the final three goals of the game. Cobain scored with 9:44 remaining off a pass from Beck. Junior attacker
Claire Herrmann (Hamburg, N.Y./Hamburg) finished off Le Moyne's scoring with her third goal of the season with 7:50 to play. Balboni closed out the scoring with 2:50 to go.

Hannah George (Johnson City, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) recorded five saves, including four in the second half, in the victory. Grace Young took the loss after allowing 15 goals and making four saves in the first half.
Le Moyne (11-0, 7-0 NE10) returns home to host Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m.
