Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball clinched the second seed in the Southwest Division with a 55-42 victory over Pace University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Tuesday night at Ted Grant Court.
The Dolphins open play in the NE10 Championships on Sunday with a quarterfinal game at 2:00 p.m. against Bentley University, the third seed from the Northeast Division. The Dolphins and Falcons met in the NE10 title game last season, with the Dolphins winning 67-45.
Senior guard
McKayla Roberts (North Syracuse, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) led four Dolphins in double figures with 14 points, including six in the fourth quarter, while adding five rebounds and four assists. The game played is the 114th of Roberts' career, the most by a Dolphin without using a redshirt season (passing current volunteer assistant coach
Corinne Poitevien's mark of 113). She also surpassed 4000 career minutes played with her fourth of the game. Sophomores
Jenna Zimmerman (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) and
Erin Fouracre (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central) each recorded 12 points, while Zimmerman registered six rebounds and three blocks. With her third rebound of the game, Zimmerman became just the fourth Dolphin sophomore to grab at least 200 rebounds and the first to do so since Courtney Coryea '10 M'11 in 2007-08.
