FOURTH-RANKED WOMEN’S LACROSSE REGISTERS 13-6 WIN AT 15TH-RANKED NEW HAVEN IN SEASON OPENER

West Haven, Conn. – Senior attacker Erin McMullen (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) scored a career high-tying six goals to lead the fourth-ranked Le Moyne College women's lacrosse team to a 13-6 victory over 15th-ranked University of New Haven on Saturday afternoon in the season and Northeast-10 Conference opener at Kathy Zolad Stadium.

The Dolphins opened the game's scoring just 54 seconds into the contest off the stick of sophomore attacker Gemma Addonizio (Manlius, N.Y./Fayetteville-Manlius).

New Haven evened the score at one apiece with 25:20 to play in the half as Cypress Levitt scored her second goal of the season.

Le Moyne scored the next two goals and five of the next six. Junior midfielder Adrianna Nojaim (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) started the run with an unassisted tally with 24:01 left. She scored again 6:19 later for a two-goal advantage. Emily Holland converted a free-position shot for the Chargers with 14:23 to go. McMullen netted her first goal of the afternoon one minute later off a feed from Nojaim, who followed with her career-best third goal of the day with 12:10 remaining. Addonizio found the back of the net on a free-position shot with 11:38 left until halftime for a 6-2 lead.

The Chargers scored the final three goals of the half to pull within 6-5. Marina Skelly began the streak with her sixth goal of the season with 10:32 left. Levitt followed 65 seconds later with an unassisted tally. Julia Astram closed out the scoring in the half with 13 seconds to go to deliver the one-goal margin at the break.

The Dolphins scored the first four goals of the second half to take control of the game. McMullen converted a free-position shot just 40 seconds into the stanza to ignite the spurt. She scored again just over five minutes later for a three-goal lead. Nojaim put the Dolphins up 9-5 with 21:50 to play with her fourth goal of the contest. Following nine minutes of scoreless play, McMullen registered her fourth marker of the game to give the Dolphins their first five-goal advantage of the game.

Holland scored New Haven's only goal of the second half after taking a pass from Levitt with 9:54 remaining.

Le Moyne scored the final three goals of the game to deliver the final score. McMullen put the Dolphins back up by five with her fifth goal of the day with 7:26 to play. Nojaim registered her fifth goal of the contest after collecting a feed from graduate student attacker Sidney Hall (Adams Center, N.Y./South Jefferson) with 4:36 left. McMullen, who also scored six goals at New Haven on March 27, 2019, completed the game's scoring with 1:19 remaining off a pass from senior midfielder Lauren Ferris (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee).

Sophomore goalkeeper Paige Crandall (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson) registered six saves, including three in each half, to earn the victory in her first career start between the pipes. Fabiana McLeod made nine saves in the setback.
 
Le Moyne (1-0, 1-0 NE10), which has won 23 consecutive regular season games dating back to the 2018 national championship-winning season, opens its home schedule on Wednesday against The College of Saint Rose at 3:00 p.m.
