MEN’S TENNIS DOWNS BENTLEY, 7-0, FOR FIFTH CONSECUTIVE SHUTOUT

Waltham, Mass. – The Le Moyne College recorded a 7-0 victory over Bentley University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Brandeis University for its fifth consecutive shutout.

The Dolphins captured the point in the doubles competition for the seventh straight match. At the first position, senior Tom Jarry (Paris, France/CNED Toulouse/Emmanuel) and fifth-year Philip Blythe (Edinburgh, Scotland/Merchiston) registered a 6-1 win over Daniel Weitz and Max Bonte. Seniors Jared Howard (Malmesbury, South Africa/Homeschooled/ASA College) and James Howard (Malmesbury, South Africa/Homeschooled/ASA College) improved to 6-0 with a 6-3 win over Connor Aulson and Jordan Soifer at the second spot. Sophomores Felipe Cruz (San Jose, Costa Rica/Blue Valley School/Saint Louis) and Ethan Miller (Swindon, England/Cirencetser Kingshill School) were 6-4 winners at the third position over Kendall Au and Alexander Novins.
 
Le Moyne swept the singles competition for the sixth time in seven matches. Jarry improved to 4-0 on the year with consecutive scores of 6-2 at the top spot over Weitz. Jared Howard was victorious over Bonte at the second position, 7-5, 6-4, to run his record to 7-0. Blythe won the tightest match of the afternoon, 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, at the third over Aulson. James Howard matched his brother at 7-0 with a 6-1, 7-6 victory over Soifer at the fourth position. Sophomore Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) became the third Dolphin to improve to 7-0 by defeating Sergio Blanco at the fifth spot, 6-1, 6-4. Cruz won at the sixth position against Gabe Horowitz, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, to move his record to 6-1.
 
Le Moyne (7-0, 7-0 NE10), which has a one-match lead over Southern New Hampshire University for first place in the NE10 standings, closes out the regular season on Thursday against Stonehill College. Prior to the match, Blythe, who has 99 wins between singles and doubles action, will be honored by the Dolphin Athletic Association for his contributions to the program.
