Rindge, N.H. – The Le Moyne College women's basketball team shot just 4-31 from the field during the second half of their Northeast-10 Conference matchup at Franklin Pierce University on Thursday night and suffered their first loss of 2022 to the Ravens by a score of 68-47.
The Dolphins jumped out to a 18-9 lead through the first 10 minutes. Senior
Emma Brinker (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) scored six first quarter points. Brinker and the rest of the Dolphins front line were active on the offensive glass early on, creating 12 second chance points for Le Moyne throughout the first half.

Erin Fouracre (Loudonville, N.Y./Colonie Central) and redshirt junior
Saeeda Abdul-Aziz (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen/Davidson) each scored five first quarter points for the Dolphins.
Following two layups from Brinker, and two layups from forward
Haedyn Roberts (Holland Patent, N.Y./Holland Patent), the Dolphins held their largest lead of the game at 28-15 with 5:30 left in the second period.
Franklin Pierce senior guard Lisa Sulejmani provided the Ravens with eight points during the second quarter, and senior forward Emma Carter knocked down two three-point field goals to keep Franklin Pierce within single-digits going into the second half.
The Dolphins went 2-20 from the field during the third quarter and scored just seven points during the 10-minute period on two layups from Brinker, two free-throws from Fouracre and one free-throw from
Jenna Zimmerman (Adams, N.Y./South Jefferson).
The Ravens shot 8-19 during the third quarter to establish a 47-42 lead going into the final period.
Le Moyne's shooting woes persisted during the fourth quarter. The Dolphins shot 2-11 during the final frame while the Ravens once again shot over 40% and eventually won the conference matchup 68-47.
Le Moyne turned the ball over 20 times, and the Ravens finished the game with 19 points off turnovers.
The Dolphins were unable to produce second chance points at the same rate during the second half, finishing the game with 15 second chance points – compared to just seven second chance points for FPU – after producing 12 during the first half.
Brinker finished with a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds, including eight offensive boards, during 31 minutes of action.
Zimmerman tallied 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Dolphins, and Fouracre finished with nine points, six rebounds, four assists, and shot 4-4 from the line.
Junior guard
Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) was in foul trouble throughout most of the first half and was unable to find her rhythm on the offensive end, but still provided three offensive rebounds and two assists.
Abdul-Aziz finished the game with eight points and five rebounds for Le Moyne.
Sulejmani shot 8-12 from the field and led the Ravens in scoring with 20 points. She also tallied nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Carter provided FPU with 16 points, eight rebounds, two steals and shot 3-7 from beyond the three-point line.
Le Moyne dropped to 10-3 overall and 8-2 against conference competition following the loss, while Franklin Pierce improved to 4-4 in NE10 play and 8-6 overall.
The Dolphins will return home to Ted Grant Court to battle Assumption University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29.
