BENTLEY UNIVERSITY SWEEPS VOLLEYBALL, 3-0, ON SENIOR DAY

Syracuse, N.Y.  – The Le Moyne College volleyball team took on Bentley University at Ted Grant Court today for their Senior Day and fell by a score of 3-0.

The Falcons came in strong, winning the first set, 25-18, then the second set, 25-14, and finally the third to take home the win, 25-16.
 
Today the Dolphins celebrated their three seniors, outside hitter Madeleine Kennedy (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea), outside hitter Megan Fay (Cornwall, N.Y./Cornwall) and setter Margaret King (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) with a pre-match ceremony.
 
For the Dolphins, Kennedy led the team in kills with six and redshirt sophomore outside hitter Madison Dembroski (Plattekill, N.Y./Wallkill) followed with five kills and seven digs. Fay had four kills and freshman middle blocker Kayla Anstett (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) recorded four blocks. Redshirt sophomore middle blocker Marie Rhodes (Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary's) and sophomore outside hitter Emily La Ruffa (Rock Hill, N.Y./Monticello) both had two blocks. Guiding the offense were freshman setter Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier), who registered 10 assists and seven digs, followed by King, who had nine assists. Redshirt sophomore defensive specialist Isabella Leslie (Elmhurst, Ill./IC Catholic Prep) led the defense with a match-high 11 digs.
 
For the Falcons, Ingrid Murphy registered a match-high 13 kills, five digs and one block. Ellie Wheeler and Elizabeth Blinn each had seven kills and four digs, while Blinn added two blocks. Natalie Thom recorded 18 assists and seven digs and Angie Grabmeier had 16 assists. Jazzy Burke and Rachel Vitko each had seven digs to tie Thom for team-high honors.
 
The Dolphins (7-14, 3-7 NE10), who remains in contention for a berth in the NE10 Championship, will play their next match at Southern New Hampshire University at 7:00pm on Friday, November 4th.
