Amherst, N.Y. – Sam Logan recorded a double-double to lead Daemen University to a 3-0 win over the Le Moyne College volleyball team in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Lumsden Gymnasium.
After the teams went back and forth over the opening 19 points of the first set, the Wildcats rattled off 13 of the next 17 points for a 23-13 lead. Le Moyne scored five of the next six points to pull within 24-18, but Logan landed her sixth kill of the set to close out the 25-18 win.
Following a 2-2 tie early in the second set, Daemen ran off eight straight points and 15 of the next 16 to take control of the set. The Dolphins answered back with an 11-2 run to cut their deficit to five. After the teams split the next 10 points, the Wildcats landed a kill for the 25-19 victory.
Daemen exploded out of the gates in the third set and jumped out to a 21-6 advantage. The Dolphins responded with four straight points and eight of the next 11 to close within 10. Daemen ended the match with a kill for a 25-14 win.

Marie Rhodes (Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary's) led the Dolphins offensively with six kills on a .667 hitting percentage. Freshman setter

Logan's double-double consisted of 11 kills and 11 digs to lead the offense and the defense. Vanessa Kuliga hit .714 en route to landing 11 kills, while adding six service aces. Olivia Alessi facilitated the offense by dishing out 33 assists and added seven digs, two kills and two aces.
Le Moyne (5-7) concludes its non-conference slate on Friday at Queens College at 7:00 p.m.
