Garden City, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College volleyball team had a quick turnaround from last night's match at Queens College to then play Adelphi University this afternoon in Garden City, N.Y at the Center of Recreation and Sports and fell to the Panthers, 3-0, in Northeast-10 Conference action.
The Panthers came out strong, winning the first set 25-13. The Dolphins had a five-point streak in the middle of the second set, started off by a kill from redshirt sophomore
Marie Rhodes (Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary's), but fell short after a time out from Adelphi, which ended up winning that set 26-24. The Panthers then took home the third and final set, 25-20.
"It's unfortunate that we couldn't end our week with a win" said head coach Bethany Fabian '13 M '17. "There were plenty of moments that we played really well, we just had a hard time finishing. We have got to get better at playing on the road. We have an opportunity to reset next week, with three home games in a row, so we are looking ahead."

Madeleine Kennedy (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) guided the offense with seven kills each, while freshman middle blocker
Kayla Anstett (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) tallied six. Rhodes registered three blocks and Talty had one block this match. Freshman setter
Haley Gerken (Buffalo, N.Y./Frontier) recorded 25 assists followed by senior setter
Margaret King (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield), who had four assists. For the defense, sophomore defensive specialist
Ella Katz (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) registered nine digs, followed by Gerken with seven and senior outside hitter
Megan Fay (Cornwall, N.Y./Cornwall) with five.
For the Panthers, Lilyen McCarthy recorded 11 kills followed by Macarty McQueen with 10. Samantha Collins and McQueen tied for blocks with two each and Noelle Alberda registered one. Brenna Valsted recorded 33 assists, nine kills and six digs. Jamie Yonker guided the defense with 11 digs and added six assists, while Jaydin Nowak had 10 digs and three assists and McQueen followed with seven.
The Le Moyne Dolphins (5-9, 1-2 NE10) will play their next match against The College of Saint Rose at Ted Grant Court this Tuesday, October 11th, at 7:00 PM.
