Hamilton, N.Y. – Colgate University recorded wins at the top three singles positions en route to a 5-2 victory over the Le Moyne College women's tennis team on Wednesday afternoon at the J. W. Abrahamson Tennis Courts.

In doubles, we had a great win at 1st with Fran and Isabella playing a very intelligent match to secure victory. On the singles court, freshman Paula and junior Fiona defeated seniors in very impressive fashion. We're really excited to get on the road this weekend and test our meddle against conference rivals."
The Raiders took a 1-0 lead in the match by claiming the point in the doubles competition. At the second position, Addie Eklund and Emily Untermeyer tallied a 6-1 win over freshman
Stella Simeonova (Sofia, Bulgaria/National Gymnasium of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) and junior
Fiona Pepper (Challapampa, Peru/Colegio Anglo Americano Prescott). Jordan Ben-Shmuel and Sasha Herman captured the point for the Raiders with a 6-2 win at the third spot over freshmen
Alicia Alvarez (Madrid, Spain/IES Ortega y Gasset) and
Paula Casares (A Coruna, Spain/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey). Sophomore
Isabella Barona (Manta, Ecuador/Talentos de Manta) and senior
Francesca Lilliegren (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio Alemán Humboldt Guayaquil) registered a 6-4 victory at the top position for the Dolphins over Emme Levenson and Katerina Atallah.
Colgate collected wins in four matches in the singles competition to clinch the match. Eklund was victorious at the first position over Barona, 6-1, 6-2. Levenson claimed the point at the second spot with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Alvarez. Amelia Galin edged Simeonova at the third position, 6-3, 6-4. Natalie Fuller won at the fifth spot, 6-1, 6-3, against Lilliegren. Casares moved to 2-0 on the season by defeating Atallah at the fourth position, 7-5, 6-1. Pepper recorded her second win in as many matches this season by knocking off Untermeyer at the sixth spot, 6-4, 2-6, 10-5.
Le Moyne (1-1) opens Northeast-10 Conference action on Saturday at Bentley University at 12:00 p.m.
