Williamsville, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College women's tennis team closed out its Fall season with a 7-0 victory over Daemen University on Sunday evening at the Miller Tennis Center.

Sianna Kavrakova got her first victory and we were able to sweep a familiar opponent. Props to Ella for fighting back after a tough set to win against their toughest spot. We really enjoyed the Fall and are looking forward to the Spring."
The Dolphins took a 1-0 lead in the match by sweeping the doubles competition. At the first position, freshmen
Lilia Raiss (Temara, Morocco/Descartes) and
Ella Fernando (Manchester, England/Stonyhurst College) recorded a 6-3 victory over Frida Rubio and Kitsa Scime. Sophomore
Stella Simeonova (Sofia, Bulgaria/National Gymnasium of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) and graduate student
Francesca Lilliegren (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio Alemán Humboldt Guayaquil) teamed at the second spot for a 6-0 win over Yinett Del Leon and Maya Chon. Senior
Fiona Pepper (Challapampa, Peru/Colegio Anglo Americano Prescott) and junior
Isabella Barona (Manta, Ecuador/Talentos de Manta) downed Carly Armitage and Emily Jablonski at the third position, 6-1.
Raiss claimed the victory at the first singles position, 6-1, 7-5, over Rubio. After dropping the first set, 6-3, Fernando rallied for 6-2 and 10-2 wins over Scime at the second spot. Barona was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at the third position over Del Leon, while sophomore
Paula Casares (A Coruna, Spain/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey) was a 6-1, 6-0 victor at the fourth spot over Armitage. Sophomore
Alicia Alvarez (Madrid, Spain/IES Ortega y Gasset) tallied a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Chon at the fifth position. Freshman
Sianna Kavrakova (Plovdiv, Bulgaria/Weil Tennis Academy and College Preparatory School (Calif.)) completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-3 win at the sixth spot over Arianna Lysiak.
Le Moyne (2-1) returns to action on Friday, February 2 with matches against Merrimack College and Colgate University.
