Lytoya Baker (Rochester, N.Y./Bishop Kearney) has been named the Northeast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the first week of the 2023-24 season as announced by the league on Monday.
During Le Moyne's first three Division I contests, Baker averaged 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
During Le Moyne's season opener at Colorado State on November 6, Baker registered a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to go along with two blocks in 33 minutes of action.
Against No. 20 Colorado, which just moved up to No. 5 in the AP Top 25 Poll, Baker tallied 18 points on 60% shooting from the field with one three pointer and five made free throws.
In Le Moyne's home opener against Stony Brook on Saturday, Baker once again scored in double figures with 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals and just one turnover. The fifth-year senior was a perfect 5-5 from the free-throw line against the Seawolves.
Baker was also selected as an NEC Prime Performer.
The Dolphins are set to take on their second top 25 ranked opponent of the season on Monday evening when they challenge No. 10 University of Southern California inside the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.
Tipoff between the Dolphins and the Trojans is set for 5:30 PM PT/8:30 PM ET.
