DeWitt, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team won it's 30th consecutive regular season Division II match with a 6-1 victory over Daemen University on Sunday night at Elevate Fitness.

Jeff Lonczak '03. "We did enough collectively tonight to get the victory. This week marks the beginning of our conference schedule as well as our senior day. We're looking forward to honoring our seniors and getting off to a fast start in the conference."
The Dolphins, who haven't lost to a Division II foe in the regular season since April 14, 2019 (Merrimack, 4-3), took a 1-0 lead in the match by claiming the point in the doubles competition. At the first position, graduate student

Ethan Miller (Swindon, England/Cirencetser Kingshill School) registered a 6-1 victory over Rohan Chitanand and Adam Pasierb. Seniors
Kacper Piekarek (Wroclaw, Poland/Autorskrie Licea Artystyczne Akademickie/Missouri-Kansas City) and
Rodrigo Beires (Porto, Portugal/Agrupamento de Escolas Garcia de Orta/Universidade Portucalense) captured the point with a 6-3 win at the second spot over Luis de Vuyst and Alex Lumanog. Phillip Vance and Zachary LaPlante claimed the win at the third position over graduate student
Manuel Righi (Bologna, Italy/IPC Manfredi - ITC Tanari/Concordia (N.Y.)/Universita di Bologna) and sophomore
Xavier Branagan (Wollstonecraft, Australia/St. Aloysius' College), 6-3.
Le Moyne was victorious in five of the six matches in the singles competition. Sophomore
Peter Hatton (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt/Club Med Academics/Army West Point) improved to 4-0 at the first position with a 6-1, 6-1 win over LaPlante. Righi moved to 7-0 on the year with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over de Vuyst at the second spot. Piekarek clinched the victory for the Dolphins with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Lumanog at the third position. Senior
Felipe Cruz (San Jose, Costa Rica/Blue Valley School/Saint Louis) earned his second win of the year with an 8-2 win at the fifth spot over Pasierb. Branagan was an 8-5 winner at the sixth position over Jayven Williamson. Chitanand picked up Daemen's point at the fourth spot after Beires had to retire with a 6-0, 4-2 lead.
Le Moyne (6-1), which defeated Daemen, 7-0, on September 10 to start the year, opens Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday against Franklin Pierce University at 11:30 a.m. at Elevate Fitness. Prior to the match, eight seniors and graduate students will be honored by the Dolphin Athletic Association for their contributions to the program.
